Ntsimbintle Holdings is a distinguished and successful mining investment company which was established in 2003 when nine black South African groups formed a company specifically to pursue manganese mining opportunities. The company was awarded prospecting rights over portions of the farm Mamatwan 331, on which the Tshipi Borwa Mine is located today. Since establishment, the company has grown from a junior miner applying for prospecting rights to being the majority shareholder of the single largest manganese mine and ore exporter in South Africa.

OVERVIEW

Ntsimbintle Holdings is one of South Africa’s most successful mining companies. In addition to the 39.66% interest held by Safika Resources (a subsidiary of Safika Holdings), other shareholders include 13 community members, women and entrepreneurial entities based mostly in the Northern Cape. The John Taolo Gaetsewe Developmental Trust, established to uplift the local Northern Cape communities where much of our work is focused, is the company’s second largest shareholder with 14.47% interest.

Ntsimbintle Holdings has a 74% stake in Ntsimbintle Mining, the developer of, and leading shareholder (50.1%) in, Tshipi é Ntle (Tshipi Borwa), South Africa’s largest manganese producer.

The Group’s other assets include Ntsimbintle Marketing and Trading Pte, Mokala Manganese, Hotazel Manganese Mines, and Khwara Manganese.
